Raining Upwards

Raining upwards…
While we drown one the other side.
The flood is how we judge it.
Destruction shows how we live our lives.
Damaged but still something
And claiming that it’s paradise.
I see obstruction, and you say it’s alright.
Once the storm is over.
You look for the new.
Someone else to hurt.
Lie to and abuse.
And I kept to myself.
Until one summer day.
When the clouds began to gather.
Another man bringing rain
But alas! The storm is needed.
My land was barren and dry.
And over everything said
He looks into my eyes.
“A seed will your womb carry.
But not to change our past.
To show how much we’ve changed.
And that I’ve found you at last.”
