Harpoon

image

I worked so hard to make you love me.
She is the reason I lose sleep.
I intercepted what could have been the end of us.
And all of it makes me question our love.

As I lay with a stranger.
The layers unfold as the story is told.
I’m in love with a stranger.
Yet, with him, I want to grow old.

Are those sirens?
Do they know you?
And if they do,
I’ll ready the harpoon.

I used to dream of us together.
Through any thing possible.
But now I see  your heart’s been weathered.
Will I see you anymore?

As I lay with a stranger.
The layers unfold as the story is told.
I’m in love with a stranger.
Yet, with him, I want to grow old.

Are those sirens?
Do they know you?
And if they do
I’ll ready the harpoon.
