I hope you all enjoyed your holiday! I had to cook for Thanksgiving’s Day, but the food came out wonderfully!
I didn’t specify what I would blog about this week in regards to my latest novel, Stained Waltz. So far, I have started on the cover art work when it occurred to me that it may be best if I looked for different ideas to use. Normally, we like to see characters carefully placed on book covers, but in this case, I find myself realizing that my taste for Goth may interfere with original plans.
It really isn’t a disappointing revelation, but it will be exciting to try out. I am familiar with Fleur De Lis and Crests which feature wicked and unimaginable beasts. I also like playing with the idea of creating portraits for characters. I haven’t decided what I’ll choose yet.
In the past, it has always been what I depicted the characters to look like. I will not reveal my decision until I’m done with what I come up with.
In other news, we are fast approaching the end of the year! You can literally blink and say it will be over! I will be sharing a recap of all the amazing things that happened for me this year! This slideshow will be posted on my website, my Facebook page, and anywhere else I can get it!
Here are a few things you can look forward to-
-JCS reached over 1,000,000 million people (worldwide) in 2018 single handedly!
-Erin Bailey is a Time Lord and Anguished Immortals: Acts of the Fallen made it to #10 in SciFi and #16 on Amazon during summer promotions!
-JCS’ estimated net worth is now $500K.
People seem to ask why sharing accomplishments is important. I can tell you from looking at this that this was born of hard work, dedication and experience! It took me six years (almost seven) to get to this point. Being able to see my progress more vividly and at a greater capacity makes me proud that I stuck to the work I cherish. It also reminds me that even though I’ve been through hell..having these rewards is totally worth going through life changing experiences. I cannot fathom why someone wouldn’t want to hear such good news (UNLESS THEY’RE A HATER…keepin’ it real!)
What are you proud of? What have you overcome? Are you proud of someone else? I am!
In 2014, I told my good friend Sam Thompson, to pick up modeling. He is very handsome and an absolute sweetheart. After four years of dedication and hard work, Sam landed an agent! I am so happy that he took the time to tell me! It literally made my day that Tuesday, I almost had tears in my eyes. It’s proof that life can be hard. You may have to work two jobs and be broke all the time…but it doesn’t mean life is over and it doesn’t mean to give up.
If anything, look life in the face, give it the finger (and anyone opposing you) work around it…and kill every challenge that comes your way! Make your goal to finish, though. Never make your goals about money. You’ll be chasing a ghost, and losing the battle.
I remember someone telling me that it’s hard work, fame, then fortune. And being able to see it unfold like that is really awesome. I do have to say, looking back at 2012 and now…things are completely different. I understand the patience I used in the past got me to this point…but it doesn’t mean things will be easier. I have several other book projects I plan on finishing before 2019 ends, as well as promoting and a possible deal designing men’s dress socks (what?!)
I want to say to anyone traveling this road that you will have ups and downs even when your head is in the clouds and you’ve made it as far as I have. But to look at your accomplishments are stepping stones. Laying a foundation is more important than anything if you want to do ANYTHING long term.
As always, thanks for reading my blog! Look for my 2018 recap slideshow soon. Make sure to share, like and comments.
