It’s been a couple of weeks since I last rambled on about Stained Waltz.
Without giving too much away, this week we will focus on my reason for putting so much emphasis on the villain known as Idris.
I found throughout my 32 years on this planet…that people who commit crimes, are abusive or controlling and usually have very low self esteem as well as mental issues. Being from America and seeing it go untreated actually helps mold the perfect bad guy.
My mother was abusive my entire life up until I said no more. By using her religion and her standing always seemed to chop me down to size, even when I wasn’t doing anything wrong. Believe it or not, these are the symptoms of being a sociopath. Controlling, manipulative, destructive, violent, etc without empathy. Scary, however, most villains in most stories have these attributes.
Idris is willing to kill anyone that gets in his way. Anytime someone makes a deal with you, but will kill you to benefit…its the obvious.
What’s worse is…if Idris loses…everyone suffers. Including Idris. It’s one of my favorite things to mention. People who are like this become detached from reality and don’t realize how much of an impact their bullshit has on everyone. They always exclude themselves because they think they aren’t an important factor.
Everyone wants some type of power. If they can’t obtain it easily, they begin killing people or selling people out. There has never been a time in history that this didn’t occur. The very first murder was because of jealously, wanting attention and to be in a position of power. However, the murderer was cast out of his own home. And he would live out his days angry, believing he was in the right.
Idris wants to stop Sacha from succeeding. That is insane in and of itself. He’s worried about what someone else is doing, when he could go along with his life and acknowledge the younger vampire. He’s been around longer than Sacha, as well.
In the end, the power struggle usually favors the good. People feel as though it is a fairy tale in saying this, but it’s more true than you realize.
I want to say this novel will be released in May of this year. I am rereleasing Erin Bailey is a Time Lord in March, mostly because it is my favorite novel.
As always, thanks for reading! Please check my Contact page for questions or concerns.
